Day 4 - Virginia!!

Well, we're here and I'm very glad. We got in at 8:30 tonight, had a drink and dinner and now its time to rest! Tomorrow I'll have more pics... today rained too much for pics!

Day 3 - Jackson , TN

Well, we finally got in for the night. It was a long day and I don't have any pictures - I drove and drove to get to where I needed to be...

Day 2

Well, we arrived in Elk City, Oklahoma, tonight. We like the Holiday Inn we're staying at and usually stay here. There is a great restaurant and the pool is the best! On the way here we had to go through Groom, Texas. Wow..


In Groom, Texas, located near Amarillo, Texas, they have a huge cross visible from the I-40. They have a sign saying its the largest cross in the western hemisphere, but I've learned that the largest is actually in Effingham, IL... by 8 feet. The one in Groom is 190 feet tall... you can see it from miles away.

Vacation - Day One

Okay, so you're going to notice that the dates are all on one day. I had to wait to finish these until I could get my pictures downloaded. Day one saw us going from California to Gallup, NM. When we left California, the temperature was going to be in the triple digits We figured it would be the same in Arizona, but boy were we surprised! Instead of hot weather, we had cold!! Mom wondered if we needed sweaters! The weather was rough for a while, with rain and thunder and lightening. But I think Flagstaff, AZ, is one of the most beautiful places ever.

On to Oklahoma

Last week was Law Enforcement Appreciate Day at Anaheim Stadium where the ANAHEIM ANGELS play (you'll note there is nothing Los Angeles about this except that we were playing the LOS ANGELES DODGERS!)..

It was a very nice game, seeing everyone there. However, Mr. Moreno (the owner) wouldn't let us have the best of tickets because this was considered a PRIME game.. so we were up in the nose bleeds.. good thing I'm losing weight because it was a hike up to that area!

Okay - its getting close to vacation time! I managed to work it out so I get the four weeks I asked for, and an extra week and two days of swap time (already paid back except for one day) and three days of ATO... That means I'm gone from 3:00 on Thursday, 7-20-06, until 9-5-06.. the day AFTER Labor Day! Oh yes... expect some pics on this blog from my travels across the country.
